Today in class, my group and I started the editing process. We finished our filming a couple days ago, so we though it was the best idea to just start editing. The editing process is usually easy for our group. The first two films we did, we had no problem editing. That was the same for this film as well. We used a software called Pinnacle Studios since we are able to use it for free at school. It is actually pretty easy to use. You simply open the application, import your desired files (videos), and then go to the editing slide. Once we got to that point, we put the videos in order. This is where we ran into some trouble. The maximum time was 2 minutes, but we had over 2 minutes. We were going to have to cut and take out unnecessary videos. We were finally able to take out some clips, and keep it so that it still runs smooth and makes sense. By that time, we had to save our work because it was time to go.
Our group got most of the main parts of the editing process done today. All that is left is adding sound effects, adding music, and implementing the titles. We plan to split these up since we still have a significant amount of time.
This is what the software pinnacle studios looks like. It is the software that our group and many others used to edit their videos. As you can see, it is a pretty simple and easy app to use.
